## Ground conditions by region

Repair method depends on what is under the house, which varies across the

- **Limestone valley and karst** (Valley and Ridge — Knox, Blount and Anderson
  counties): water travels through solution channels and sinkholes in limestone
  bedrock and can reach a crawl space suddenly rather than gradually; bedrock
